Passenger Operations:
This tape puts the narrow gauge in South-West Colorado back together again just as it really used to be: passenger operations on the 170 missing miles between Alamosa and Durango plus the Farmington line are shown with trains that cover almost every mile of the way: climbing out of Wilson Gulch eastbound, snaking along the bottom of Canyon Amargo photographed from the canyon rim, Arboles before it disappeared beneath the flood behind the Navajo Canyon Dam, the Continental Divide - West of Cumbres. Double-heading up the 4% to Cumbres Summit and racing down the dual gauge across the table flat San Luis Valley. A short piece is devoted to a mountain rescue on the Silverton and closes with scenes of a mixed train in the snow, the last train that ever ran from Alamosa and Durango. Photographed by Herb Craig and Mac Owen. Color
