Hudsons Along the Hudson
35 Mins #SRP-NYC1 $29.95

Celebrates the best known steam locomotive in history: the New York Central Hudson - the first 4-6-4 steam engine and the first in a parade of hundreds of high speed, high drivered passenger engines that powered America when it moved in luxury on wheels of steel.

This tape has the world’s best known streamlined passenger trains: The Twentieth Century Limited, The Commodore Vanderbilt, The Pacemaker, The Empire State Express and a dozen others. It shows them racing along the beautiful shore of the Hudson river on the High Iron racetrack between New York and the West.

It has brief views of switching, hump yard and branch line operation. This tape is not made from shopworn prints of railroad promotional films or the tattered negatives of instruction films. These are transferred from pristine originals made by Richard H. Nadel and the New York Central itself. You’ll find it hard to believe that film like this could exist today.
